Amiga Music Preservation (AMP), a non profit association, is running the biggest and most comprehensive database ever about amiga music and amiga musicians. All the composers of the amiga deserve to be remembered and to have their work preserved. We tried all we could on our own but although it's growing all the time, now we seriously need you to help us one way or another.

22.03.2012 (11:38) - connections issues - by Asle
Hi,

A slight problem of 'space left on device' occured while no one was watching, resulting in rejecting any connections to the DB. This has been fixed now.
 Sorry about that ...

Cheers

01.01.2012 (11:09) - 2012 - by Asle
Folks,

And again, another year goes by. 2011 was fun, although, not much happened for AMP people (as far as I know). We still managed to keep the pace of last year, more or less, update wise.

With some figures, 2011 means the following:
- 10300+ additional musics
- 550+ additional author (although 40 were removed)
- 1200+ authors' description were amended
- 270+ musics were updated/changed
- 120+ pictures were added

Now, I want to extend AMP people's best wishes to everyone for 2012.
To all, a happy new year.

Sylvain

05.03.2011 (14:46) - upload drough - by Asle
Hi all,

We entered a small spell of upload drough in March. This is explained by my lack of spare time and also my departure to India. It'll start again when I come back (end of month). Sorry about that.

Hello hordes of fans Smiley

First, in the name of AMP staff, let me wish you all a happy new year 2011.
2010 is over now, and for AMP, quite a few things happened. A new server, a new PHP/MySQL version, Monty moved to a new home, Crown became father, etc. Smiley

With figures, AMP in 2010 means:
9469 musics were added (about 30 ziks a day)
 553 musics were updated
 380 authors were added
 1111 authors were updated
 500 pictures were added

Of course, all this (and much more) made possible with your help, in front or behind the scene. So again, we thank YOU for the nice 2010 that came and went. I hope 2011 will fare at least that great.

All the best to all,
Sylvain

14.12.2010 (22:12) - AMP celebrates its 10th Anniversary today!! - by Crown
Hello everyone,

Asle, Curt Cool, Monty and Myself are more than proud to celebrate AMP's 10th Anniversary. As law requests, we had a couple of good beers and enjoyed the day as much as the weather allowed us to.

We've got a couple of nice surprises to come in the coming days and weeks.

As an appetizer, we wanted to offer some never released modules from either well-known or "out of the scene" musicians.

We live it up to you to download the attached file below and load your favorite module player.

On behalf of the Team, I want to express my gratitude to the huge amount of support we're getting from Musicians, Demo Sceners, Module Fanatics (hi Slash!) and all the people that took some of their time to take part in the development of the Database.

Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!

PS: mods are here http://amp.dascene.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=239.0;attach=503

09.12.2010 (12:31) - AMP's 10th anniversary - by Crown
Hi fellows,

In order to celebrate AMP's 10th Anniversary, on December 14th, we're asking audio contributions from (ex) Amiga Musicians.

As we'd like to release a RAR archive with all contributions, we'd you to send us mod. file composed with sound/noise/protracker, either on a real Amiga or through emulation (WinUAE, UAE4all, etc.). Your music needs to be original, which means that it was not released earlier.

Please send your mod file to Crown.

We look forward to hearing from you guys.

Many thanks

04.11.2010 (12:00) - Vote for the 100th logo - by Crown
Guys,

It's finally time to vote for the 100th AMP logo.

Simply answer to the poll right here: http://amp.dascene.net/forum/index.php/topic,226.0.html and have fun.

Cheers

[EDIT] We have added Kefrens AI's logo although it was sent to us a bit later than expected. Same as with Anarkhya's entry, the logo is not 100% finished. The poll was modified accordingly so that everyone is allowed to vote twice.

01.11.2010 (17:08) - Sound Monitor music - by Asle
In today's addition, I've included some Sound Monitor musics. This was planned long ago but, for some reason, was stalled until now. More files are in the pipe.
Note that Modinfo was updated to display some of the content of such files.

06.09.2010 (17:46) - URGENT: Conner CP30254H Hard Drive missing - by Crown
Hi to everyone,

Chromag kindly sent us his IDE hard drive so that AMP could preserve the whole content of it.
The HD hosts all his modules and a large collection of tunes from other Amiga musicians

Sadly, the hard drive's head is broken and our only to hope to salvage its content is to find a working Conner CP30254H HD. It has a total capacity of 250 megs and more details can be found right here: http://www.computerhope.com/hdd/hdd0052.htm

I hope that someone will be able to help with a donation.
So let us know if you find one of them.

15.08.2010 (12:12) - Looking for the 100th logo! - by Crown
Hello troop of fans.

We now have 99 logos online and we'd like to reach 100 anytime soon.

So we encourage anyone skilled enough to paint a logo to submit the entry. We'll be running a competition to decide which one will be chosen as the 100th logo.

Send your creations over to Crown and let the audience decide.

19.07.2010 (01:20) - Server change - by Asle
Hi all,

We have changed our server. For the ones using IP, there's also a new one.
We have run a lot of tests since it now runs PHP5. Everything seem OK, so we went on. If anyone encounters a problem, please report to Monty or Myself (or even in the forum).

Thanks
Sylvain

26.06.2010 (20:58) - FTP down (again) - by Asle
For some technical reasons, FTP will be down for some time (might amount to weeks).
We are sorry about that but it seems it couldn't be prevented.

If you need to send us something, and if it's not too big, consider sending over via email to any AMP staff people.

Sylvain

UPDATE : ftp is up again, however, the address changed. Please, refer to the ftp info page.

29.04.2010 (11:29) - Another logo from Anarkhya - by Crown
Anarkhya kindly took the time to paint his 13th logo for AMP. This time he was inspired by a famous French singer and composer named Serge Gainsgourg. We now have a total of 99 logos online, 1 to go before we reach 100. Thanks pal  Smiley

I also wanted to inform you that I am now the proud father of a baby boy that was born on April, 26th and that I still do not have an internet connection so I should be back at the end of next week.

Cheers to all!
